Privacy policy

Effective November 6, 2026. Last updated November 6, 2026.

The short version
  • We collect what you send us (forms, email, texts, calls) and a little basic site data.
  • We use it to answer you, do the work you hire us for and run our business.
  • We never sell your information, and we never share your phone number for anyone else's marketing.
  • We use a few trusted service providers, including AI tools, to help us respond and do the work.
  • You can ask us to see, fix or delete your information at any time.

1. Who we are

Mainspring Sites ("Mainspring Sites", "we", "us") is a web design and website care business based in Louisiana. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through mainspringsites.com, our email, phone and text messages, and the work we do for clients.

Questions? Email privacy@mainspringsites.com.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

Information collected automatically

Information from public sources

To find organizations we can help, we review publicly available websites and directories and may note an organization's name, website and the business contact details it publishes (such as a general office email or phone number). We use this only to contact the organization about our services, and we stop immediately if asked.

3. How we use information

4. AI tools and automation

We use automated tools, including AI models from service providers such as Anthropic, to help sort and draft replies to email and texts, summarize call transcripts into action items and help build and maintain websites. A person at Mainspring Sites oversees this work and reviews decisions that matter, such as pricing, agreements and anything unusual. If you ever ask whether you are talking to a person or an automated assistant, we will tell you honestly.

Our AI providers process information only to deliver their service to us, and we choose provider settings that do not allow our data to be used to train their models.

5. Call recording

We may record and transcribe business calls so we have an accurate record of what was discussed. We will tell you at the start of a call when it is being recorded. If you prefer not to be recorded, say so and we will stop recording or arrange another way to talk. Recordings and transcripts are kept only as long as we need them (see section 8).

6. Text messages (SMS)

7. Who we share information with

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the business, under agreements that require them to protect it, and only as needed:

Type of providerWhat they do for us
Website hosting (Netlify, Cloudflare)Hosts our site and client sites, receives form submissions
Email and documents (Google Workspace)Business email, files and calendar
Business phone providerCalls, texts, voicemail, recordings and transcripts
AI services (Anthropic)Help drafting replies, summarizing calls and building sites
Payments (Stripe)Invoices and payment processing

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business, in which case this policy will continue to apply.

8. How long we keep information

9. Client websites

When we build or maintain a website for a client, the client decides what information that website collects from its own visitors and members. For that information we act on the client's behalf and follow their instructions. Visitors to a client's site should read that site's own privacy policy and contact the client with questions. You own your site and its content, and you can ask us for a copy at any time.

10. Your choices and rights

Email privacy@mainspringsites.com to make a request. We will respond within 30 days and may need to confirm your identity first. Residents of some states have additional rights under their state's privacy laws; we will honor those rights where they apply. We will not treat you differently for using them.

11. Security

We use reputable providers, encrypted connections (HTTPS), two-factor authentication on our accounts and limited access to client logins. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we will notify you as required by law if a breach affects your information.

12. Children

Our services are for businesses and organizations. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will change the "last updated" date above and, for significant changes, let current clients know by email.
